  • Comprehensive assessment of the status of natural resources, their services, and their interaction with society, traditional practice and nature.

  • Analysis of the inter-dependence and interactions of key natural resources, viz., water, land and forests.

  • Understanding the micro level climate change and its impacts, mitigation and adaptation through traditional knowledge.

  • Conduct activity based science learning programmes for students engaged in primary and secondary education.

  • Organize awareness programmes, training programmes and capacity building programmes in the area of environmental conservation, agriculture, drinking water, primary health and sanitation.

  • Organise workshops, seminars and conferences.

  • Carry joint research projects and actions with partners’ institutions, practioners and NGOs.

On Going Project Activities

  • Developing Integrated Development Index: Conducting detailed field survey in Arkalgud Taluk, Hassan district, Karnataka on Integrated Development indicators by covering major sectors like Education, Health, Agriculture, Water Resources, Drinking water and sanitation, skill development, local market, youth and women development, ecology, environment, etc.,

  • Webinars for competitive examinations: Organising webinar series and online quiz series for competitive examination aspirants on various subjects like General Kannada, General English, General knowledge, Science, Social Science, etc.,

  • Why to Read MK Gandhi: Various activities to attract student and teachers community towards Gandhian thought. Workshops/discussions/webinars on Gandhi.

  • Understand Babasaheb Dr.B.R. Ambedkar, Dr.Rammanohar Lohia and Lokanayaka Jai Prakash Narayan: Workshops/webinars on Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Rammanohar Lohia and Lokanayaka Jai Prakash Narayan

  • Activity based Environmental Education: Supporting Government High School Kanbail, Kodagu district, Karnataka. Under this project developing and maintaining Herbal Garden, organic kitchen Garden, Handwashing practices, Water and sanitation best practices, learning by practicing

  • Developing Mathematics Laboratory: Developing Mathematics Working Model Laboratory to attract local communities and rural students towards science education

  • Integrated personal development and Value based education: Supporting rural students for personality development, effective communication skills and also on value based education. Encourage to read literature, philosophers to enhance thinking capacity at community level



Completed Project Activities

  • Activity based Environmental Education: Supported Government High School Kiragandoor and Kanbail, Kodagu district, Karnataka. Under this project developed Herbal Garden, organic kitchen Garden, Handwashing practices, Water and sanitation best practices, learning by practicing

  • Medicinal Plants Garden: Plantation drive in selected Government Schools of Hassan and Kodagu districts

  • Sustainable Harvesting and Value addition for NTFPs: Under this project supported 19 village forest committees (VFCs) for sustainable harvesting of locally available non timber forest products (NTFPs) and value addition for the same. CEECo also supported them for suitable market chain linkages.

  • Workshops for SSLC Students: organized block level workshops for SSLC students on examination preparation in Kodagu district.

  • Tejaswi Odu: Conducted programme on Famous Kannada Science Writer Sri. K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s work on Environment.

  • Environmental Awareness Programmes: Conducted Environmental awareness programmes in more than 700 schools of Mysore, Kodagu, Hassan, Bengaluru Rural, Mandya and Tumkur districts, Karnataka

  • Menstural Hygiene Awareness: Conducted awareness and training programmes on Menstrual hygiene for School Children in Mysore, Kodagu, Hassan and Kodagu districts

  • Fuel Conservation Awareness Programmes: With the support of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Bengaluru chapter, conducted various awareness programme of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA)’s SAKSHAM activities every year. Under these activities supported schools to participate in National competition through online. CEECo has reached out more than 5 lakh students through these activities in last five years (2016-2021). Distributed certificates for best performers.

  • Farmer’s Awareness Programmes: Conducted awareness programmes about fuel conservation, water conservation and climate change adaptation in Hassan and Mandya district.

  • Online Quiz for 10th Std. Students: CEECo conducted online quiz for 10th standard students both Kannada and English medium in all the subjects to support for their public examination. Through these activities we have reached nearly 24 thousand students.

  • Webinar Series: Organised series of webinars related to environmental conservation, concept of environment in Kannada literature.

  • Training Programmes/ Workshops: Conducted various training programmes and workshops for school students and teachers related environmental conservation, communication skills. We have trained school students to disseminate their knowledge with local communities.

  • Cyclothon: CEECo has organized three major Cyclothon to create awareness in the local communities and also conducted consultation workshops.
    1. Seven days bicycle rally from Bengaluru to Kodagu and to back to Bengaluru through Mysore by covering 700 kms and conducted programmes in 25 schools and community level on Fuel Conservation

    2. Twelve days bicycle rally from Bengaluru to Talakaveri and to back to Bengaluru through Mysore/ Mandya by covering 1200 kms and conducted programmes in 25 schools and community level for creating awareness about River Cauvery under the title NAMMA CAUVERY

    3. Fourty Five days bicycle rally from World Earth Day to World Environment Day by covering 28 districts of Karnataka. To create awareness about Earth and Environmental conservation and also taken plantation drive under the title NAMMA KARUNADU


  • UN-International Days: CEECo is regularly organizing World Water Day, World Earth Day, World Environment Day and World Toilet Day. These events were carried out at block level for school students and teachers. Painting, debate, quiz and other programmes are organized.

Our Faith
We believe that Indian civilization is largely based on rural communities rather than urban settlements. The uneven urban development or expansion of cities has largely distorted the organic relation between villages and cities. In the process, a long gap or distance has been created between villagers and city dwellers. Thus the development of rural communities has become one of the prime concerns of the present day society. Efforts have been made by the government and policy makers to understand the very concept of rural development and contribute towards it by centralized policies and community development programmes. Whereas, we are interested in developing an Ideal village model based on community perspective or peoples perspective rather than the perspective of policy makers. CEECo is interested in working on the key indicators of the rural development viz. Sustainable and Integrated Agriculture, Rural Livelihood as a matter of choice, small scale agri-processing industries, agriculture marketing, etc. to enhance the quality of life of villagers.
